Is SeaWorld right to keep ‘Tilly’ performing?
Tilikum, the orca which killed trainer Dawn Brancheau at SeaWorld Orlando, is to resume performing.
Whilst I do believe that it’s appalling to keep creatures in aquaria and parks who can live a fulfilling life outside them – surely the most sensible way to handle this particular animal was to never ‘show’ him again? They have other orcas who can perform – and it seems like sheer greed that makes they use this animal in a role which it is clearly not suited to.
Any tips to keep my stuff safe on my trip to Orlando? (Disney, SeaWorld, etc.)?
I’m staying at the Champions World Resort in Orlando, and there is a in-room safe.
I don’t want to leave it at home, but I’m a little scared to take it with me, I’d hate for it to get stolen.
I also have a small crossover coach bag (it goes over my right shoulder and stops at my left hip), 300 dollars, a new sony cybershot and costa del mar sunglasses that I planned taking with me at all times.
Is all this okay or am I way out of line?
Also, safety tips please!
Also, my boyfriend will be with me at all times.
The sunglasses also have straps so they are virtually impossible to come off. Ill prob just leave them here so I dont get a coon eye tan line there lol

How To Keep Your Costs Down When On Holiday In Orlando
We all like to get away from the real world and take a holiday perhaps once or twice a year. It’s a chance to get away from the mundane day to day routines and go away and relax, hopefully in the sunshine! Because of its weather, Florida is a destination that is enjoyed all year round by many UK holiday makers.
But it doesn’t have to cost the earth.
You can keep your costs down by watching your budget. The first thing to do is consider the cost of your accommodation. How many people are going on your trip? If you have quite a large party then maybe you should consider staying in a privately owned holiday villa. The Villas can often accommodate 8 -14 people and are very reasonably priced. You will probably save considerably on hotel rooms!
You can also find some very reasonable flights to the USA, so shop around on the Internet before you book something.
If you stay in a Villa you can also keep your costs down by buying meals from supermarkets and cooking them in your private kitchen. This will save you considerable amounts of money compared to eating out in a restaurant every night.
If you plan to visit Disney World during your stay then see if you can find any special offers such as “Buy One Get One Free” vouchers, or “Kids go free” offers. This is also true for the other attractions such as Universal Studios.
Of course, having a fun day doesn’t necessarily mean spending money. You can take a trip to a nearby beach and enjoy a day relaxing in the sun and swimming in the sea. If you have a large group you can play games on the beach such as football or cricket. You can have a great time without spending too much money.
Depending on where your Villa is located you might need to hire a car. Car Hire in America isn’t too expensive and fuel is considerably cheaper than in the U.K but work out if you need to have a car for your entire holiday, or just a few days.
These are just a few tips that can help you save a bit of money without sacrificing a good time whilst on holiday in Florida and Orlando.
SeaWorld Will Keep TILIKUM
VICTORIA – SeaWorld Orlando says it will keep the killer whale that drowned its trainer despite calls to free or destroy the massive marine mammal. But SeaWorld says it will suspend all orca shows while it decides whether to change the way handlers work with killer whales. Tilikum dragged a trainer into its pool and thrashed the woman to death as audience members watched in horror. Tilikum was one of three orcas blamed for killing a trainer in 1991 after the woman lost her balance and fell into a pool at a former marine park in Oak Bay.
