Remembering Miracle Strip Amusement Park – Panama City Beach, FL

This is a slideshow presentation of the now defunct Miracle Strip Amusement Park, that was built in 1963 and was operated until September 5, 2004. This classic beachside park was located directly across the street from Shipwreck Island water park, which was owned by Miracle Strip as well. After 41 years of family fun, Miracle Strip sold the park’s land, but kept Shipwreck Island open. The investors who purchased the land wanted to build condominiums overlooking Panama City Beach, but went bankrupt. Now the park just sits there abandoned. Most of the rides have been sold, and the Starliner Roller Coaster was destroyed and rebuilt in Cypress Gardens Adventure Park, where it has been reopened once again.
