Questions about using Disney Vacation Club points when I’m not actually a member?
Hi all! My boyfriend and I love Disney and have been going every year for the past 4 years! 2010 will be our 5th trip. My aunt is a DVC member and for Christmas she was kind enough to give us 50 points for us to use whenever we like. I’m siding towards staying at the Boardwalk in October because it’s only 10 points per day and that will give us 5 days. However, whenever we go to Disney we like to stay for 8 days. Is it possible to extend our stay? Obviously we will be paying for it but I also wonder if we would get a reduced rate or have to pay full price. We can’t afford to pay the $350 price per night so would it be possible to switch resorts? Also, is it possible to have the dining plan? Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated.
I would call the Disney Vacation club and ask them. They should be able to tell you if you’d get it for a discount. To get a lower price – book your trip during their off peak season if possible. (Jan – Mid march, Oct – Thanksgiving, and the last week of Nov. – Mid Dec.). That will at least give you the lowest regular rate. Boardwalk is a beautiful hotel!!
